Dr. Julia Yee’s counselling journey began when she was an Instructor at the University of Toronto where she would provide one-on-one consultation on career development and post-secondary education planning. She later worked as a Youth Worker at the Centre for Immigrant & Community Services (CICS) and served newcomer youths and their families who needed assistance on cultural adjustment and social integration.
Julia’s scope of counselling includes parenting, family relationships, and issues surrounding trauma, grief, and loss. She assumes a client-centered approach and believes that the key to every underlying issue is within the reach of the client; the role of a counsellor is to journey with her client as a mindful guide, a compassionate companion, and a faithful witness at their most vulnerable time.
Julia is fluent in Mandarin and English.
