Kelly Tam is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She is also registered with Association for Play Therapy US as a Play Therapist™. She has a Bachelor degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and also a Master of Social Science in Counselling from the University of Hong Kong. She also obtained a Diploma in Play Therapy.
Kelly utilizes Person-Centered Therapy / Child-Centered Play Therapy to help her clients reach their full potential by facilitating them to explore and understand their own abilities, beliefs, values and personality. Her focus is to empower her clients with the capacity for meaningful change and self-growth by providing a warm acceptance and non-judgemental therapeutic environment. Kelly works with a wide range of clients, including those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and bereavement, marriage and relationship issues, working through various life transitions, and learning stress/anger management strategies or other coping skills
Children and adolescents are also the population that Kelly is specialized in and passionate about. She is proficient in providing play therapy to children who are experiencing childhood anxiety, ASD, ADHD, depression, low self-esteem, learning disabilities, parenting challenges, traumatic life events, issues with family transitions, adjustment to school, and peer relationships.
Kelly practices in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
