Are you going through a tough time? Do you often feel weighed down by feelings of sadness, anxiety, anger, or loneliness? Are you struggling with difficult relationships, life changes, or self identities? Do you want to have a change but do not know where to start? If you find it difficult to talk to your friends or family, you may come talk to me. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address your difficulties.

Since I was little, I knew I wanted to work with people. I feel pain for people’s sufferings; and I am amazed by people’s resilience and strengths. I have had the privilege of walking alongside my clients when they were going through difficult times in their life journey. My role as a psychotherapist is to empower my clients in making sense of their experiences, exploring their life values, finding their solutions, building healthy relationships, and making peace with themselves.

I practice with the strength-based and anti-oppression frameworks. I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, and so I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Counselling, and Systemic Family Therapy.

In my over 20 years of clinical practice, I worked with children, youths, adults, and elderlies. I provided psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families at a counselling centre, a mental health unit at a teaching hospital, schools, and in private practice.

My education background includes BA in psychology and Master of Social Work from the University of British Columbia, and Bachelor of Social Work from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. And I have obtained Certificate in Solution Focused Counselling from the University of Toronto.

I am aware of my social locations that have shaped me as a person and as a therapist. They facilitate, and at the same time limit, my understanding of people and the world. I am committed to opening myself to understanding my clients’ lived experiences, and empowering them to find their solutions, to pursue their goals, and to live out their life values.

If you feel stuck, you are not alone. We can work together to find healing and change.
