Yandong (Carol) Xiang is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with Honours from York University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto, specializing in Health and Mental Health. She is also certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy by the Canadian Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CACBT-ACTCC).
She is a dedicated and passionate social worker who has served an adult population with diverse multicultural and sexual orientation backgrounds, addressing complex mental health issues such as depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic attacks, specific phobia, borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, childhood traumas, grief, burnout, work stress, perfectionism, sleep difficulties, and interpersonal relationship issues.
Carol holds empathetic and non-judgmental attitudes and is culturally sensitive in her clinical practice. She believes in a strength-based approach and is committed to helping individuals with their recovery by utilizing various treatment modalities and approaches, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion.
Carol is fluent in both written and verbal English and Mandarin.
