James is a Registered Social Worker at the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW). He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Hong Kong Shue Yan University and a Master’s Degree in Family Counselling and Family Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

James has been working in the clinical setting for over 7 years, focusing on serving the new immigrants and the vulnerable population of youth and their families who are subjected to undesirable influences, e.g. mental illnesses, special educational needs, family conflicts, addictions, and criminal behaviours. James has accumulated a strong understanding of the developmental needs of youth and their family as well as a fruitful experience in enhancing the relationship between parents and their children.

James believes every family and its members possess strengths and abundant internal resources. Every challenge in our lives teaches us a lesson. By adopting an integrative approach, James’ goals of therapy are to provide clients with a safe platform where they can enhance self-awareness, promote self-esteem, empower decision making, adopt personal responsibility, and achieve self-congruence.
