Ms. Mitasha Bhalla provides psychotherapy treatment sessions under supervision for problems/ issues that are related to clients involved in motor vehicle accidents. This includes addressing trauma symptoms, anger management problems, relationship issues and communication skills, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, driving/passenger anxiety, pain management to name a few.
Her approach to treatment is mainly Cognitive Behavioural which includes techniques such as Cognitive restructuring, Socratic dialogue, behavioural activation, Stress reduction, desensitization techniques, Relaxation training, Pain management techniques. Additionally, other approaches such as solution focused therapy, supportive counselling and psychoeducational techniques are also used.
Through collaboration between therapist and client, Mitasha’s goals of the therapy are to provide clients with a safe space where they can expand self-awareness and explore and process their thoughts and emotions to work through challenging issues in a confidential and non-judgmental environment, in order to uncover inner strength and empower positive change.
